It was absolutely brilliant. I wasn’t sure whether I would like it or not - I’m a fan of silent movies but wasn’t sure if it would be possible for one to capture my attention in the way that a talkie would. I needn’t have worried, it’s honestly well worth a watch. It’s beautifully shot and I hope it wins an Oscar for the cinematography. The entire film has a wonderful sense of humour that had me giggling and the score was just spot on. I was pretty much drooling over the entire film (one of the downsides to studying film is that you do become one of those twats who can be like ‘yeah the use of shadows was really artistic. I loved the mis-en-scene’ and so on). But yeah - if you have any reservations then dispel them and get yourself to the cinema. Right now. GO. It’ll probably sweep the Oscars.
Today was also a delight because Leech came over with a bag of treats before the cinema, which we decided was a ‘date’ and she shunned her prospective man for me. She also said she was going to do the old yawn and arm over cinema trick, but didn’t dare. I was disappointed, but received a hastily shouted ‘I LOVE YOU’ at the end of the evening.
I’m in a pretty good mood. Khristine keeps coming in my room and shouting ‘DOWN WITH THE HATERS’. She has a fair point kids, a fair point indeed.
