I’m currently reading a book about a prostitute and it’s scaring me slightly how much I can relate to almost everything she has written about in her early life. Then I actually thought about it and remembered that she’s obviously a person, so why would she feel differently? 

I’ve started to notice a difference in the media treatment of prostitutes recently. I’m not sure whether to class it as ‘glamourised’ or if it’s just that the stigma has been removed enough for people to be honest about prostitution without receiving backlash. I was recently going through a list of new books and a good few of them were about Victorian call girls - we get the visualisation of these incredibly sassy women, which are then countered by novels like ‘In My Skin’ - a gritty and very real depiction of life as a street walker. 

I have no idea what I’m writing about. I feel very thinky this evening.
